STOCK UP
•The Patriots became the fourth team in NFL history to record a perfect regular season, and the first to go 16-0. New England beat the Giants in a hard-fought battle, 38-35.

•Tom Brady set the single-season touchdown pass mark, edging Peyton Manning's old record. Randy Moss shattered Jerry Rice's single-season mark for touchdown receptions.

•Purdue quarterback Curtis Painter threw for 546 yards and three touchdowns in the Motor City Bowl.

•Dayton won its 10th straight basketball game in an 80-55 blowout of Pittsburgh.

•The Portland Trail Blazers have won 13 in a row. Imagine if this franchise had Greg Oden this season?

•The Detroit Pistons have won eight straight games.

STOCK DOWN

•Cleveland Cavaliers reserves Damon Jones and Ira Newble refused to enter a game when coach Mike Brown put them in.

•Scott Skiles was fired as head coach of the Bulls just before Christmas.

•Kentucky's basketball team fell to 5-6 after a home loss to San Diego.

•The Kansas City Chiefs finished the season with a nine-game losing streak.
